Autumn (September to November): The Best-Kept Secret
September is, for many travel experts, the single best month to visit the Costa Blanca. The summer crowds have departed, the sea temperature reaches its annual peak (often around 26°C), and daytime temperatures remain a glorious 27-30°C. Prices drop considerably while the quality of the experience barely diminishes.
Winter (December to February): Mild, Peaceful, and Affordable
Winters on the Costa Blanca are genuinely mild by European standards. Alicante City averages around 17°C in December and January, making it a popular destination for northern Europeans. Villa and apartment prices reach their annual lowest point, making this a fantastic time for a longer stay on a smaller budget. Torrevieja in particular is popular for winter long-stays.
